A thoroughfare in central London leading from The Aldwych to Trafalgar Square. It is lined with hotels and theatre. Charing Cross station is at the Trafalgar Square end. Watson stayed in a hotel here on his return to London after leaving Afghanistan (A Study in Scarlet).
